My first and most ardent advice would be to ensure that your foundational Islamic knowledge is both strong and correct before picking up a pen, as whatever you write will follow you to the grave and likely be there long after you die. It is pertinent to remember that we will be called to account for every word, action, and deed in our lives. This reminder is even more pertinent in writing, which will likely affect the lives of others perhaps centuries after you have passed on. My second advice is to ask Allah’s guidance throughout the entire process of writing, as well as securing the acquaintance of trustworthy, wise, and knowledgeable Muslims to review your work before publication.
